From digging out 18 inches of sand and dirt with wheelbarrows and shovels, to shoveling gravel through the windows using a 12-foot chute from a skid steer bucket—this project has taken some serious work.
We built and poured reinforced bench footings and a new concrete floor in four separate pours. Valley Concrete Pumping, LLC pumped the concrete in with a 2-inch line pump, and Mid-Illinois Concrete supplied the strong mix.
With a new trench drain and waterproofing system throughout, the “Doll House,” built in 1879, is being restored from the ground up.
We’re grateful to Brick and Beam Management for the opportunity to be part of this restoration.
