Well last year was quite a year. I got a little too busy to keep up my page, the way I wanted, so I’m going to try and do better this year. As many of you know, I have worked in the funeral home and cemetery business the last twenty years and it has occurred to me that most of my friends are probably going to need some of the knowledge that I have gained. It is my goal to offer information about the funeral/cremation/burial processes and merchandise so that my friends and readers of this page can look into this process being well informed.
That being said, I hope to address a different topic each month, however, I will be happy to answer your questions on an individual basis also. Please remember that I don’t check my Facebook every day, but will get to you when I can.
I will be glad to listen to any suggestions that you may have and I may also post some topic related trivia from time to time about the funeral industry.

Good afternoon,

Sorry I have not posted anything for some time. I do want to post something for people who have lost a loved one over the winter and have yet to order a granite marker.
NOW ISTHE TIME TO GET IT DONE!!!!!!
And here is why:
Marker companies need about 1-2 months to get the marker manufactured. This is after the marker has been designed by the family. (And who knows how long that will take.)
The marker then needs to be delivered to the setter who then has to contact the cemetery for all the regulations so that the marker is set in compliance with the cemetery rules.
Also many colors of granite come from overseas. You may have to wait a couple of months for you granite to get to the marker company.
So you can see that purchasing a granite marker and getting it set usually can easily take 2-4 months!
NOW HERE IS THE KICKER: Memorial Day is less than four months away, so now is the time to get moving on the final monument to your loved one!
If you need any more reason to light a fire and get it done, remember I said that several granite colors come from overseas? Well those markers are going to be experiencing a price hike due to the tariffs that are going into effect pretty quick. This will raise granite pricing 10% to 25%.
