☀️ August sun does more damage to a roof than most people realize. Asphalt shingles can hit surface temperatures well above the air temperature around them, and repeated heat cycles are what cause granule loss and brittle edges over time.
This is also when small issues turn into bigger ones fast. A weak spot that would have held through spring can give out under a few more weeks of direct heat.
If your roof has felt hotter than usual this summer, it is worth a second look.
