The pure geometric shapes of the white glass clad form and gray aluminum trellis create a simple counterpoint to the surrounding landscape. The form and detailing are intentionally minimal, while maintaining the high standards of the surrounding club architecture. The structure is modest in scale, simple in function and places limited demands on natural resources.

Designed in response to overlapping zoning, wetland, and FEMA constraints, the residence employs a comprehensive coastal resiliency strategy. Principal indoor and outdoor living spaces are elevated on a raised plinth above the design flood elevation, complemented by a habitable roof terrace, green roof, and integrated planters. A stormwater management system captures 100 percent of rainwater from the roof and terraces, preventing runoff into adjacent tidal wetlands.

This residence on Long Island’s Noyack Bay frames spectacular water views, optimizes indoor-outdoor beachfront living, and emphasizes openness. Two offset parallel wings aligned with the shoreline are connected via circulation areas at each level. Dramatic living spaces are oriented to the water while support spaces face inland. A semi-detached study and pool cabana punctuate the east end of the northern wing and experience both views. Sunlight streams through glass curtain walls, while louvered screens provide shading and privacy.

Two simple gable-shaped volumes of glass are shrouded in horizontal western red cedar wood slats, providing a delicate, layered interior experience while alluding to traditional barn forms in the region. Full height glass walls invite sunlight throughout the open interior allowing for seamless connections to the pool and the ocean beyond.

This ground-up, multi-story office on the Lower East Side in Manhattan situates itself between two existing residential buildings in an up and coming neighborhood filled with energy and youth. The form scales itself to the surrounding context and provides spectacular views of the nearby park for upper floor tenants. A void between the existing building to the west and the new development offers clarity of form as well as a certain refuge for tenants from the hustle and bustle of the New York streets. A restaurant located on the first floor also enjoys this private courtyard.

The property is a natural stage for a contemporary home on a secluded edge of the Hamptons overlooking Mecox Bay. Its design responds to intensive constraints, including vertical restrictions, flood zone requirements, and setbacks to protect wetlands. The solution was an organization of solids, voids, levels, and angles, further informed by site conditions, yielding a dramatic elevated form with two structures, each canted to frame views of the adjacent marsh and the Atlantic Ocean.

At the heart of this 8,000-square-foot sports barn, a regulation squash court brings everyone together. It also organizes the design and circulation. Glass walls, elevated walkways, and connected gathering spaces make every match, strike, and workout part of the same shared experience.

Expansive views toward Easton Bay shaped the design of this coastal Rhode Island home, along with the need to address strong winds, solar gain, and privacy. Aluminum louvres, motorized shades, and deep overhangs moderate sunlight and provide privacy alleviating these needs, while full-height glazing opens the main living spaces to the water.

At Beachside, the kitchen reflects this philosophy through a restrained palette of warm wood flooring, crisp white cabinetry, and understated finishes. Expansive steel sash windows flood the space with daylight, while clean lines and concealed storage allow the architecture—not clutter—to define the experience.
