We would like to take a moment to share something personal with our customers, friends, and followers.
In January, our family received the news that Kirk was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer that has affected his bone marrow and caused damage to his bones. After undergoing four different biopsies and numerous appointments, his incredible medical team developed a treatment plan to begin fighting this disease.
For the past 11 weeks, Kirk has been receiving chemotherapy treatments every Tuesday and Friday, along with daily chemotherapy medication. This final week of chemotherapy brings a mix of emotions for all of us—relief, gratitude, hope, and uncertainty as we prepare for the next phase of his journey.
Following his last chemotherapy treatment, Kirk will undergo approximately eight hours of testing to determine if he is cleared to move forward with a stem cell transplant. If approved, he will be hospitalized for approximately two weeks during the transplant process. Once he returns home, he will face significant restrictions and will require 24-hour care for at least 90 days as his body recovers and rebuilds.
We would especially like to thank our customers and clients for your patience, understanding, and continued support during this time. There have been days when appointments, treatments, and unexpected challenges have affected our schedule, and your kindness has meant more to us than words can express.
We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our children, London, Rylee, and Maddisson. You have stepped up in ways we could have never imagined, helping us keep both our family and our business moving forward during one of the most challenging times of our lives. Your willingness to help Dad and me, often without being asked, has meant more than words can ever express. We are incredibly proud of each of you, and we hope you know how much your love, support, and hard work mean to us.
We would also like to thank our family for their unwavering support. Whether it has been helping with the business, lending a hand when needed, offering encouragement, or simply being there for us, your support has made a tremendous difference. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing family standing beside us.
As a family-owned business, we take great pride in serving our community, and we remain committed to providing the best service possible while navigating this journey. We may need a little extra grace and flexibility in the coming months, but please know that we are doing everything we can to continue serving our customers while putting Kirk's health and recovery first.
Please continue to keep Kirk and our family in your thoughts and prayers as we take this next step in his fight against cancer. We are incredibly grateful for the love, support, encouragement, and prayers we have received from our family, friends, customers, and community.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
