Recent reviews on our recent projects. These two landed within a week of each other and we are still grinning about both.

Robbie's roof went on up in Granby. Mountain work is its own animal. Short weather windows, tight access, and every bundle has to make it up a road that was never built for it. We used Owens Corning Duration FLEX, Class 4 impact rated, in Onyx Black.
Full exterior repaint down in Loveland. Blue-gray siding with sage trim, all the way to Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa with Tricorn Black. A color change that drastic means priming the entire house before a single finish coat goes on.

Aurora got hammered on 8/13 — here's a roof that didn't care.

I got on this one the day after the storm. Owens Corning Class 4 hail-resistant shingles that we installed four years ago.

Back slope? A few small hail marks, nothing worth worrying about. Front slope? Absolutely nothing.

You can see from the dents inside the gutters exactly which direction the hail was coming from — and the roof still held up perfectly.

Here's what that's worth to this homeowner: no insurance call, no deductible, no claim process, no new roof. Again.

For reference, the rule we inspect by is 10 or more damaged shingles per 100 square feet — that's when a slope has to be replaced. This roof wasn't close.

So if you're replacing a roof in Colorado, get the Class 4. You usually get an insurance discount for it, and you stop holding your breath every time the sky turns green.

Another Granby roof crossed off the list. 🏠

This one was a full tear-off — old shingles gone, fresh underlayment down, and Owens Corning Class 4 impact resistant installed ridge to gutter. The homeowners had been chasing leaks and patching spots for a couple of seasons. That's a stressful way to live, especially heading into winter.
2 days of production. Crew swept the property twice and ran a magnet over the driveway and lawn before we pulled out, because nobody should be finding roofing nails in their yard.

This home in Loveland went from tan with blue accents to Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa with Tricorn Black trim, and now it reads like a brand new build.

Power washing the whole exterior, scraping off every bit of loose paint, caulking every seam. Then a full primer coat over the entire house, because a color change this drastic will ghost through anything less.

That prep is what decides whether it still looks like this in five years, so we would rather show you than tell you.

This Denver roof was old, worn out, and starting to leak. So we tore it off, pulled an outdated swamp cooler while we were at it, and put on Owens Corning Duration Storm shingles in Desert Tan. Clean, modern, and it's not going anywhere for decades.

Paint isn't just a look. It's the raincoat that keeps water out of the siding underneath it.

Jake walked a rental with composite siding that went too long between paint jobs. Once the paint broke down, the boards started soaking up water like a sponge, warping and pulling apart until you could see right behind the siding. That side of the house is past repainting now. It needs to be replaced.

The catch: it almost always starts on the north side, the side that gets the least sun and stays damp longest, and the side nobody looks at. Catch it while it's still a paint fix and you save yourself a very expensive project.

Out with the old, in with the tough! Another Denver home gets a serious upgrade.

Sandy's old roof had taken years of Colorado hail, wind, and sun, and it was ready for retirement. Due to home access for delivery, our crew did a clean ground drop of materials to stage for a full tear off of the old roof, then installed a Class 4 impact-resistant Owens Corning shingle. Ever wonder what a roofer is actually doing up on your roof during an "inspection"?

We filmed one, start to finish, at a customer's home in Sterling Colorado after last month's hail. Jake shows the chalk trick that makes invisible hail dents show up on your vents, and the 10x10 test square insurance adjusters use to decide if a roof gets repaired or replaced.

Ten or more damaged shingles in that square usually means the whole slope gets replaced. Now you know the number the adjuster is counting to.
