What a day at Hamstra Gardens this past Saturday! 🌸📸

It was truly one of the busiest prom days in our history, and we continue to be amazed by how many people choose our gardens as the place to gather, celebrate, and capture such special moments. We are so grateful to be able to provide a space where memories like these are made.

Wilbert and Peggy would have absolutely LOVED seeing so many people enjoying the property! We are happy to be able to continue their vision.

We also want to extend a big thank you to everyone for your flexibility with our alternative parking setup. With our normal entrance closed, we were doing our best to adapt on the fly, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

If you attended, we would love to see your photos, feel free to tag us in anything you share!

Thank you again for visiting Hamstra Gardens, we’re honored to be part of your special day. 💕

It's with a heavy heart that we are sharing the passing of Wilbert Hamstra, the founder, visionary and original owner of Hamstra Gardens.

Words cannot express what he has meant to us, our family, and so many friends over the years. Wilbert wasn’t just the foundation of Hamstra Gardens, he was the heart behind it.

He was dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, great-great-grandpa, and most of all, friend to so many. His kindness, work ethic, and love for people helped shape not only his family and businesses, but our entire community.

We’re forever grateful for the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed.

🌸 Important Updates for the Upcoming Season at Hamstra Gardens 🌸

As many of you know, Hamstra Gardens has seen a wonderful increase in visitors over the past several years. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support our community has shown, and with that growth comes the need for a few important changes this season.

What’s new for this year:

All guests will be required to register before visiting

Visits will no longer be free; general admission is $5 per guest

Guided tours and photographer sessions will be available for an additional fee

Photographers may also purchase a season pass for full seasonal access

Visit www.hamstragardens.com to schedule.

Why the changes?
Our goal is to create a better overall experience for everyone. Managing guest flow will help ensure a more enjoyable visit, especially as there will be major construction on the home located on the property this season, making reduced traffic necessary for guest safety.

This year is a transition season, and we kindly ask for your patience as we implement these updates. These changes are not meant to limit use, but rather to improve the experience and allow us to plan for exciting future opportunities — including enhancements to the gardens and new ways to enjoy the property that have never been offered before.

We truly appreciate your understanding and support during this time and are looking forward to providing an amazing garden experience for many years to come. 🌿✨

Prom Season Update:
We have received several questions regarding the upcoming prom season. This year, we will be offering free “open house” events exclusively for KV and DMC proms. These designated days will be open to KV and DMC students and their families for photos at the gardens. Additional details and dates will be shared as those events approach.

Thank you for being part of the Hamstra Gardens community!

Hamstra Gardens will be closed on Wednesday, August 13th for a chemical application. Thank you.
