Sometimes you don’t get the perfect starting point—you just make the most of what you’ve got and leave it better than you found it.

First and most importantly: the existing rock walls shown in these photos were NOT installed by our team. They were already completed before we were brought onto the project.

The homeowners weren’t completely satisfied with the existing walls, but removing and rebuilding them immediately would have added a significant expense. Rather than tear everything out, we worked with what was there and focused on improving the landscape around it.

We installed Green Giant arborvitae, lavender, hydrangeas, fresh mulch, and additional plantings throughout the property to add color, texture, and seasonal interest. 🌿

And this is just the beginning. As everything matures, the landscape will continue to fill in and transform. The homeowners can also choose to address the existing walls in the future when the timing is right.

Not every project starts with a perfect canvas. Sometimes you work with what you have, make the most of the situation, and leave it better than you found it.

I grew up learning how to survive—not always how to slow down.

From foster care, to the back roads of Maine, to New York City at 13, life taught me to keep moving, keep working, and never stop solving the next problem. That mindset carried me through school, college, and into building a business I’m proud of.

But survival teaches you a lot… and sometimes it forgets to teach you how to be present with the people who matter most. I’m still learning that success isn’t just what you build—it’s making sure the people you love feel it, too.

For a long time, I was the one mowing every lawn.

Back then, quality control was simple—it was just me.

Now we’re in our third year full-time, we’ve grown our team, and we’re training new guys every season. One of my employees, who’s been with me since I was mowing after my 9-to-5, brought something up today that made me stop and think.

Since we started offering lawn maintenance, we’ve never had a callback because of the quality of our work. No complaints. Just happy customers and lawns we’re proud to put our name on.

That doesn’t happen by accident.

It comes from slowing down when it matters, paying attention to the details, and making sure every new team member understands that we’re not just cutting grass—we’re taking care of someone’s home.

I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but I’m even more proud that as we’ve grown, we haven’t lowered the standard that got us here.

What they don’t see is everything that has to happen long before the first plant goes in the ground or the first paver is laid.

That means our trucks spend countless hours on the road every week—not because we’re wasting time, but because we’re committed to using the best materials for every project. Those miles add up quickly, but it’s all part of delivering the quality our clients expect.

Every landscape is made up of hundreds of moving pieces. Materials have to be ordered, deliveries coordinated, crews scheduled, equipment moved, permits managed, and timelines adjusted when weather or suppliers throw us a curveball.

When you look at a finished landscape, you’re seeing much more than skilled craftsmanship. You’re seeing weeks—or even months—of planning, scheduling, problem-solving, and behind-the-scenes work that most people never realize is happening.

It’s one of the least visible parts of what we do, but it’s one of the biggest reasons our projects stay organized, efficient, and built to last.

🌱 We really enjoy these smaller refresh projects just as much as the larger installs. They’re a great way to bring neglected landscape beds back to life and give a property a clean, updated look without taking on a full renovation.
