YFP is hiring for an Electrician Supervisor.
Position: Electrician Supervisor
Reports to: Maintenance Superintendent

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises and coordinates activities of Electricians engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of electric power and lighting of buildings and production equipment. Confer with Maintenance Superintendent, Plant Manager and other department heads to ensure employee safety, coordinate department activities and minimize downtime during maintenance, projects or unscheduled downtime. Instruct electricians in programming skills or operational skills needed for equipment. Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers and fuse boxes, according to blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches. May estimate or requisition materials as needed. Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specification or local electrical systems and installation of equipment. May work with Human Resource Department to interpret Company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Supervise workers engaged in maintenance of electrical systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead by example in a firm, fair and consistent manner. Train, coordinate and supervise electrical staff.
• Complete personnel actions such as performance reviews, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
• Complete time and attendance, employee work hours and production reports.
• Maintain and program AC/DC drives and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).
• Troubleshoot automated machinery for malfunctions or verify needed repairs.
• May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Regularly use test equipment and hand tools to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Must follow all approved lockout and safe operating procedures when working on, clearing or otherwise placing self or others in a potentially hazardous situation.
• Assist with maintenance during equipment repairs.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
• Thorough knowledge in PLC programming.
• AC/DC drive programming, 12 volt to 12,470 volts AC/DC.
• Ability to maintain motors, motor controls, conveyors, and PLC.
• Ability to maintain and repair transformers, switchgears, cable boxes, and more.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Must have the ability to problem solve and maintain efficiency of the operation.
• Must be able to take both written and verbal direction.
• Must be a self-starter, team player and possess a positive attitude and to regularly work independently.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two years’ experience as an electrician.
• 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Good understanding of PLC programming and AC/DC programming and extensive motor control knowledge.
• Must be able work all shifts and weekends.
• Must be able to lift 45 pounds and greater.
• Must possess good performance in work, safety, and attendance records.
• Must be able to communicate and work with the Maintenance Supervisor and other departments to keep mill operating effectively and efficiently.
• Must be able to use all tools required for electrical maintenance.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
