Hard to believe it’s been nine years since I first walked the site in with a couple who dreamed of the perfect lakehouse. Rather than impose, we practiced slow design — listening to the land to guide each decision. Together with Miller Roodell Architects and Mark Cravotta Interiors, a vision began to emerge to restore the developed site for a new future.
Yesterday, the first phase of the project — gardens surrounding a modest 600sf cabin — was honored with a National ASLA Honor Award in Residential Design! While large projects often receive the spotlight, it’s especially meaningful to see a small landscape – shaped with patience, restraint and transferable principles – recognized by the profession.
Grateful to our teams, collaborators, and above all, our clients (who are now dear friends) for their trust and joy along the way. Onward to Phase 2!!!
