As an owner operated business like mine I really try to give a personal experience and lean more towards building friendships with my customers over just being their contractor. Many of my clients will start to refer to me as family when I’m working in their homes and often times I find myself being invited to dinners, events, swim at my customers pools with my family etc. It’s a good feeling to work for ppl who care and understand the amount of effort that goes into remodeling by myself and I’m grateful for all the good relationships that have been created over the years.
I will say that I don’t often receive monetary tips, which btw is never expected by me. Kind words and appreciation are more than enough of a tip for me to feel good upon reaching completion of a renovation but today Dan and Ellen left me with a wonderful card with a message from each of them accompanying a $500.00 tip!
Thanks Dan and Ellen and all my other customers that have welcomed me into their homes over the past 11 years! I’m not perfect. I’m not the best to ever do it but I try my best on every job and nothing is more rewarding than a little recognition of that effort.
If you have a great contractor in your life helping to make your dreams come true, thank them. It makes it worth it for us!
