The SCI team had the opportunity to participate in last week’s historic groundbreaking ceremony alongside Longview ISD leaders, representatives, community members, students, faculty and many others. The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony marked the much awaited and highly anticipated first step in the transformation of the LISD campus. We are beyond excited to join our partners in launching these two great projects on behalf of the district and the Longview community. The 112,000 square foot Multi-Purpose Indoor Facility will feature a 120-yard turf field, training areas, batting cages, golf simulators, a weight room, locker rooms and multipurpose instruction spaces. The new Career and Technical Education Center will feature 95,000 square feet of state-of-the-art learning environments that will house specialized classrooms, updated labs and a diesel mechanic bay. The facility will house a mock courtroom for students who are interested in pursuing law, as well as a student-run bank for students who are interested in finance. The facility will support a broad range of programs including health sciences, engineering, law enforcement, robotics, cosmetology, and other high-demand fields. The core of the facility’s purpose will be to expand opportunities for LISD students pursuing career and technical pathways. We look forward to these two great projects.
