Signs like these are available online but not large enough to display 8 pictures. I was asked by a good friend if I could make one large enough to hold 8 pics. Challenge accepted. It came out awesome. Real barnboards with 1/8" thick letters cut on the laser.

Being on "light duty" because of carpal tunnel surgery has its advantages. I have spent a lot of time working on the laser this past week. A few new projects in the works. Thought I would give a little sneak peak of the photo engraving I have been working on. The car and truck were photos I downloaded from Google, the one of my nephew and his first turkey, and the one of the coneflowers were taken on my Samsung phone. The one of Zach and Sabrina was taken on an IPhone. In the case of this picture, it was taken, sent to me via Snap, I emailed it to myself so I could open it on my computer, downloaded it from the email to my computer, up and downloaded it to and from the software program I use and then finally uploaded to the laser software program for engraving... many steps and chances for the photo quality to decrease or degrade and the burn still turned out awesome. I will note that there are what appear to be lighter or darker lines running horizontal or vertically through the engraving. This is all due to the grain of the wood. It has nothing to do with quality of the original picture file used. I am still working out pricing but if you are interested, please contact me. Now that the wedding has happened, I can share this. As part of a wedding gift for my nieces, and nephew, I make them a card box for their wedding. My niece Autumn married Andrew yesterday. This is the card box I made for them. They are both teachers so a stack of books it is.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. I was approached last summer about building this house. The home owners father and boyfriend wanted to help as much as possible. Of course I said yes. Although the father and I are co generaling the project, he did all the up front leg work and hired all the subs. My involvement started more with the actual construction phase. The project has been fast moving so far with the trusses being set today, at the beginning of the 4th week of work. Being a one man band, it is impossible to build a whole house by myself, so projects like this are a perfect fit for me and the home owner, in this case the home owners father. They usually turn out being a win win for everyone.

The Rustic Rose is sponsoring a vendor fair tomorrow, Friday 9-5, and Saturday 9-3. Stop on down and support a bunch of local vendors by doing some Christmas shopping. I will be there selling my wares. Along with all the other items I make, I have added ornaments and Christmas earrings. The ornaments would make great present toppers. I am excited to announce that I have added a CO2 laser to my business. I have wanted to do this for a few years now and finally decided to dive in. The laser will do engraving, cutting, and marking. Since the beginning of January I have been burning the midnight oil "playing" with the laser and learning the computer program that it operates on. Although something new will always come along, I am comfortable enough to start taking on jobs. Currently I am able to engrave in most solid woods and plywoods, cut up to 1/4" solid wood in most species and up to 1/2" in the soft wood species, cut up to 1/4" plywoods, cut 1/4" acylic (working on the engraving),engrave slate, and "mark" on stainless steel. I will be working on other things such as engraving power coated cups/mugs, engraving glass, engraving leather, granite, tile, and hopefully many other items as well. As with everything, there is a learning curve but I am ready for the challenge. I am planning this to be a side hustle for now and still do my woodworking and construction with hopes to work this into a larger part of my business as time goes on. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance from the public in locating a missing couple from the Village of Windsor. Earlier today, a family member reported Bart and Krista Halderson were last seen on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at their home. They planned a trip to Langlade County, Wisconsin this weekend and family has been unable to confirm if they arrived safely.

There is no vehicle associated with couple. Bart is 50 years old and Krista is 53 years old. If anyone has information on the couple, please contact the Dane County Communications Center at 608.255.2345 or the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 608.284.6900.
