Customer called us for a second opinion after receiving a $13,000 quote to replace their septic field because the system was backing up.

After inspecting the field, we found it wasn’t wet enough to immediately justify a full field replacement, so we continued troubleshooting. The septic tank was overflowing, which is often a sign of a failing field, but we wanted to rule out every possibility first.

We checked the outlet filter and found it completely clogged and packed with debris. After thoroughly cleaning the filter, flow was restored and the field should now continue operating properly again — potentially saving the homeowner thousands of dollars.

We also recommended installing a filter stack/riser over the existing filter so it can easily be accessed and cleaned every 6 months, helping prevent future backups and extending the life of the system.

Sometimes a proper diagnosis can save a customer from an unnecessary replacement.

Watch this Bobcat E50 in action as we carefully lift a concrete septic lid using the built-in access hook—no shortcuts, just precision and control. Every move matters when you're working around an active septic system and preparing for a full tank abandonment.

In this job, we’re removing the riser and cover to expose the tank so it can be properly crushed and decommissioned. This isn’t just about breaking concrete—it’s about following the correct process to ensure safety, compliance, and long-term site stability. With the Lakewood building inspector on site, everything is being done strictly by code from start to finish.

Operator Michael, with over 25 years of experience, demonstrates what true skill looks like. Steady hands, the right touch, and a deep understanding of equipment allow us to handle heavy materials without damaging surrounding structures or risking injury. This level of control is what separates professionals from the rest.

Tank abandonment is a critical service that must be done correctly to avoid future sinkholes, environmental hazards, or property issues. Whether it’s an old, unused tank or part of a property upgrade, proper decommissioning protects both the homeowner and the land.

At Brewer Septic, we handle everything from start to finish—inspections, pumping, permits, abandonment, and site restoration.

Just completed a beautiful job in Jackson.
This field proved to be a particular challenge. The truck wasn't able to deliver a concrete tank to the backyard so we had to switch it out to plastic.
