I had the opportunity to attend the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce State of the City Luncheon on August 14th, featuring Mayor Stan Booker as the guest speaker.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was hearing about the “Kids First” initiative and the commitment to building a stronger community by investing in our children.
New facilities are being built and new programs are being created to give our kids more opportunities—not only to learn and grow academically, but also to participate in recreation, develop new skills, build relationships, and discover their potential.
Our children are the future leaders of this community, and creating a community where they can thrive benefits all of us.
It was encouraging to hear about the vision for Lawton and the work being done today to create a stronger tomorrow. There is a lot to be excited about!

We had the privilege of hosting the Wichita County Sheriff's Department K-9 teams at our facility this week for one of their training sessions, and it was incredible to witness firsthand.
Watching these highly trained K-9 teams and their handlers work together was nothing short of impressive. The discipline, trust, and dedication they demonstrate every day are a testament to the commitment they have to keeping our community safe.
A sincere thank you to the Wichita County Sheriff's Department and the K-9 officers for your service, professionalism, and the sacrifices you make to protect Wichita County. We are honored that you chose our facility for your training.
