BY MIKEL MILLER - MIDWEST FOAM WORK LEAD ESTIMATOR:

Discovering Mastery: An Estimation Experience with Midwest Foam Works

As an estimator for Midwest Foam Works, I’ve seen it all, but my recent visit to Paul Stagl’s home was truly special. What I thought would be a routine estimate turned into an inspiring encounter with an incredible woodturning artist.

Paul has transformed his third-car garage into a fully equipped woodworking shop. Specializing in woodturning, his latest creations are stunning Christmas ornaments, intricately designed and perfectly turned on his lathe. Paul’s work has won many awards and he’s a proud member of the South Kansas Woodturners.

This visit reminded me of the dedication and craftsmanship we strive for at Midwest Foam Works. Using polyurethane foam, we lift and stabilize concrete with precision and care, just like Paul with his woodturning.

Encounters like these inspire us to continue delivering top-notch service. If you have concrete issues, trust Midwest Foam Works to handle them with the same dedication and expertise. And if you get the chance, check out Paul’s amazing woodwork—you won’t be disappointed! He'll be selling his creations at St Peter's Catholic Church's Fall Bizarre October 12th 2024.

Polyjacking, also known as polyurethane concrete lifting, is a process of lifting and stabilizing sunken concrete by injecting a polyurethane foam under the slab. Polyurethane is a flexible, durable material that can lift and support the weight of the concrete.

Some potential benefits of polyjacking over other concrete lifting methods, such as mudjacking, include:

Faster curing time: Polyurethane foam cures much faster than the slurry mixture used in mudjacking, so the repaired area can be used more quickly.

Greater lifting capacity: Polyurethane foam is able to lift heavier loads than the slurry mixture used in mudjacking, so it may be more effective for repairing larger or heavily-loaded slabs.

More accurate placement: The polyurethane foam can be injected through small, precisely placed holes, allowing for more accurate placement and less disruption to the surrounding area.

Greater stability: The polyurethane foam is more stable and durable than the slurry mixture used in mudjacking, so the repaired area is less likely to sink again in the future.

It is important to note that polyjacking may not be suitable for all types of sunken concrete or in all situations. In some cases, concrete replacement may be more appropriate.

It is always a good idea to consult with a professional to determine the best course of action for your specific situation. Call us today for a fast, free evaluation to see if poly-jacking is right for you!
