Getting a driver’s license is exciting. Adding another driver to the household can also change quite a few things $$ on your auto insurance.

Before the license test, it’s worth discussing:
• Which vehicles they’ll drive
• Who should be listed on the policy
• Available discounts
• Liability limits
• Who is allowed to be in the vehicle while they are driving
• What your family expects if an accident occurs

The insurance conversation doesn’t have to start at the DMV parking lot.

~YOUR LIFE INSURANCE NUMBER SHOULD HAVE A REASON BEHIND IT~
$100,000. $250,000. $500,000. $1 million. Those numbers don’t mean much by themselves.

A helpful question is: What amount of money, does my family need to accomplish X, Y, & Z?

Maybe it would help Replace Income, Pay off a mortgage, cover childcare, provide time for a surviving spouse to adjust, or help with future family expenses.

Life insurance isn’t simply choosing a big number. It’s about understanding the job you would want that money to do.

I hear versions of that more often than you might think.
When retirement starts getting real, people often know they have decisions ahead of them but they aren’t always sure which questions matter first. That’s okay.

A productive conversation can start with something as simple as: “Here’s where we are. What do we need to review?”
