We can't wait to see leaves on the ground! Friendly reminder to all the heat pump owners out there. Your outside unit runs in the fall and winter too! Keeping leaves from obstructing it will help it run more efficiently. Even if you have a conventional air conditioner, keeping it clean will prevent rust and rot, helping your unit last longer. Grab your mocha-choca, pumpkin spice...whatever... and spend a few minutes cleaning the leaves off your unit!🍂

No doubt about it, it is HOT!!!
Air conditioners are designed to work within a certain outdoor temperature range. Depending on your air conditioner, it may be working perfectly when it's 105 outside and 75 inside. Even if your thermostat is set to 68 degrees.

Check out this sweet brick repair we made at our shop this week! Guess you could pretty much say we are stone masons now...

Joking aside, there is a lot of buzz lately about self-performing HVAC installations. While we respect the intrepid spirit required to tackle an unfamiliar and technical task, we often get called to pick up the pieces when things don't go as planned. The list of common mistakes is long but usually includes buying the wrong size unit, installation errors, code/safety issues, and misunderstanding what their unit is capable of. Sadly, we often have bad news for these folks and it ends up costing them more than it would have if they just called us first. Even if everything goes right, customers sometimes call us hoping that we can help them with warranty parts since the company that sold them the equipment will not respond to them. When they do get the parts, replacing them can be much more complicated than the original installation was.

Combined, we have hundreds of years of HVAC experience at Comfort Systems.

Oscar Wilde said it best. "Experience is the name we give to our collection of mistakes"
