Bed Bug Awareness Week: What NOT To Do 🚨
One of the biggest mistakes people make when they discover bed bugs is putting mattresses, box springs, or furniture out at the curb.
Many people think, "If I wash my linens and get rid of the bed, the bed bugs will be gone." Unfortunately, that's usually not the case.
Bed bugs often hide in bed frames, nightstands, baseboards, and other nearby areas. Moving infested furniture through your home can actually spread bed bugs and their eggs from room to room. Even after the furniture is gone, treatment is still needed to eliminate the infestation.
And here's another problem: that mattress, nightstand, or piece of furniture left on the curb may still contain live bed bugs or eggs. Someone looking for a free item could unknowingly bring it home, creating a whole new infestation—and an expensive problem. ❌🚫‼️
If you suspect bed bugs, don't move furniture outside. Call a pest management professional for an inspection and proper treatment plan.
