I have to comment on some things I see happening in my area with “plumbing” I won’t name names right now, but there is one major offender out there plumbing without a license and sending unlicensed, unqualified, unsupervised individuals out to do it.
If you are in need of services like plumbing, hvac, electrical, or any other licensed contractor do not be afraid to ask for license, insurance and other qualifications. There are many factors to pricing as well, but if someone quotes well over $2000.00 for a 40 gallon water heater please get a second opinion. It doesn’t have to be me, I can’t do it all.. but don’t just trust that someone won’t take advantage of you. If you want a building permit for your project so that it’s inspected please ask, many things don’t require them but many do. A handyman can not move plumbing, open a wall to replace plumbing, install new plumbing or electrical devices. Please be an informed customer, a licensed and legitimate contractor will have no problems with the questions and be specific.
hvac contractors can not do plumbing without a plumbing license and an actual licensed plumber on staff and on site.. using someone else’s license is illegal and irresponsible. This is happening daily in Brigham City. Please be careful and protect yourself and your neighbors.

The words they use matter.. using the word CLEAR, or OPEN is a gimmick some companies use along with a ridiculously low advertised price. ANY business that comes to you will lose money at the, and less than $60-$100 range, maybe even more depending on the overhead of the company, for an hours time. It’s called a loss leader, it’s basically the five dollar chicken at Costco. They are not there to do you a favor with a cheap service, they’re there to sell. 
The word, clear, or open, is a diversionary tactic that specifically does not mean clean. If you’re having a drainage problem, don’t go with the guy that low balls a foot in the door price for half of a service in hopes of selling you more, get someone that is willing to go the distance to make sure you’re not gonna have a problem. Hire a company that CLEANS drains.
