Before and after pictures of a project we did for Bower Custom Window Tinting this week. This retaining wall is over 20 years old and holding up fairly well! The steps were not so well off. They were at the point of being dangerous.

The uneven nature of the retaining wall made the steps a little tricky, but they turned out great. The sidewalk was also a huge upgrade from the uneven tired pavers.

Jim has tinted several of my vehicles for me and does a great job. I'm glad I got the opportunity to work for him as well!

These kids are all looking for more work. We get very wrapped up in the concrete aspect of what we do. However, we also do landscaping. From small residential work to large commercial jobs like this apartment complex.

Whether it's just mulch, or a complete tear out and replacement of current landscaping, or anything in between we can handle it.

Sierra has a great eye for landscape design and a good knowledge base. We will make it happen.

Busy day today for S.A. Calvin Property Maintenance LLC . Now that it's not raining, we have multiple projects going at the same time. Sierra was running a hard working mulch crew at Oak Grove apartments in Avis. This is a large mulch job and should be wrapped up by the end of this week.

Bradley was on a concrete job in Loyalsock and was always one step ahead of me!

I hope it rains again tomorrow 🙄.

Concrete work in the rain is difficult to say the least. Days like today are spent on prep work, so that when it finally does stop raining we can pour concrete.

Quality is often the prep work that is done and not seen when the job is completed. This morning was spent drilling holes for rebar dowels that will hold this floating slab to the next floating slab we will pour up against it. These 1/2" rebar dowels will keep the slabs floating together so that they don't separate, settle, or heave independently years down the road.

When completed this driveway will weigh approximately 111,000lbs. The freeze and thaw cycles in Pa would move this slab easily if not prepped properly. Compaction, drainage, and structural reinforcement are key in a driveway like this.

Before and after pictures of a sidewalk replacement in South Williamsport. The old sidewalk was damaged by tree roots. If planting trees between the curb and sidewalk, choose trees like Hedge Maple, Autumn Gold, Yellow Buckeye, or smaller varieties of crabapple. These trees have smaller root systems or roots that grow deep instead of wide causing less damage to sidewalks.

In most cases, municipalities have codes and ordinances for sidewalk specs that need maintained at the homeowners expense.
