A Naturi natural pool takes about 3 weeks from start to swim.

A traditional gunite pool takes anywhere from 8 to 14 weeks to build depending on size, complexity, and permitting.

The reason the timeline is shorter comes down to how the system is built.

There is no gunite shell that needs to cure for weeks before the next phase can start.

The Naturi structure goes up faster, the surface is applied and finished on site in a fraction of the time, and the fill and startup process is straightforward.

That also means less time with a construction site in your backyard, which most homeowners appreciate more than they expect to.

If you have been putting off building a pool because the timeline felt too long, this changes that math pretty significantly.

This pool build in Bentwater didn't give us a lot of room to work with. It's a smaller backyard with over six feet of elevation change.

So we built a large board-form structural wall to separate the house from the pool and then got to work on making every single inch count.

✅ Tanning ledge with custom tile mosaic

One of the most common questions we get about natural pools is whether they are harder to keep clean.

The answer is actually the opposite of what most people expect.

Because the water in a Naturi pool circulates upward through the floor rather than through wall returns, there are no dead zones.

Dead zones are the areas in a traditional pool where water sits still and algae starts to form. That is usually what drives up chemical usage.

The continuous floor circulation keeps the water moving across the entire surface at all times.

Less stagnant water means less algae, which means fewer chemicals needed to keep the pool balanced. Over time that adds up to real savings on maintenance costs.

The system also produces a subtle bubbling effect across the floor of the pool, which is part of what gives it that natural spring feel when you are standing in it.🫧

The surface of a Naturi pool is made from Italian quartz sand and natural stone aggregates, hand-rubbed and finished on site.

The texture under your feet is soft and natural, not the rough plaster or slick tile you get in a standard build.

That is by design.

The material is meant to replicate the feel of a natural shoreline, not just look like one.

And from a durability standpoint it holds up significantly better than traditional white plaster.

Standard plaster typically needs to be resurfaced every 10 to 15 years at a cost of $10,000 to $25,000 depending on the size of the pool.

A Naturi surface just needs to be resealed every couple of years to maintain its finish and color.

We can also run fiber optics through the surface material to create a subtle glow in the water at night without any visible fixtures breaking up the natural look.🌊🌴

A Naturi natural beach pool is not a traditional gunite pool with a different finish. It is a completely different system.

The structure is built using a high-performance binder mixed with quartz sand, marble aggregates, and natural stone.

Instead of a hard plaster shell, you get a surface that is soft, textured, and shaped entirely by hand on site.

Every curve, every slope, every bench is formed during the build, which means no two pools come out the same.

The water moves differently too.

In a traditional pool, circulation happens through wall returns. In a Naturi pool, water flows up through the floor of the pool itself.

That constant upward movement keeps the water cleaner, reduces dead zones where algae can form, and cuts down on the amount of chemicals needed to maintain it.

Each backyard comes with its own challenges, and this one definitely kept us on our toes.

We had to work around limited space and a big elevation change, but that’s what made this project truly one of a kind.

This backyard had nearly a 6-foot drop from the house to the back of the lot, which can add a significant amount of cost to a pool project because of the extra structural and drainage work involved.

At the same time, elevation changes like this can create opportunities for more unique layouts. 💦
