BURN AUTHORIZATIONS RESTRICTIONS FOR MONDAY, MARCH 25: - NO AUTHORIZATIONS ****DUE TO HIGH GUSTING WINDS UP TO 24MPH

Florida Forest Service - Waccasassa Forestry Center will not issue any outdoor burn authorizations in Alachua, Gilchrist, Levy, Marion and Putnam counties today, Monday, March 25, due to weather predictions calling for unfavorable outdoor burning conditions which include winds gusting up to 24 MPH.

Goethe State Forest staff will conduct forestwide prescribed burns starting tomorrow, November 2, 2021, beginning around 10:00am. Prescribed burning is planned for Tuesday through Thursday. These will be small maintenance prescribed fires and should not affect any interior trails or forest roads.

Smoke is not expected to impact any roads or homes, however, if you do experience smoke on while driving, please lower your speed and turn on your low beams. Also please be cautious of forest vehicles entering and exiting the forest.
