Behind every great man there stands a strong woman…

Last week, Shirley Marcus at the age of 95, joined her husband Carl and her loving Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.

If you had the pleasure of working with or alongside our founder Carl Marcus, you knew Shirley. Shirley was the support system, wife, mother, grandmother and friend that allowed Marcus Construction to lift off the ground and grow. She was the first bookkeeper as the business grew from the basement of a home in Prinsburg to where it is today.

She was known for her love of Jesus, her irresistible caramel rolls, her intentional conversations, her loving smile, and friendships with so many.

Her favorite verse was Psalms 23 – and lived the words of it out in her daily life. “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life”

Her visitation will be from 9:00–11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, at Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg, with coffee and rolls provided. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
