I’m glad to see this last warm front come through and be done. It’s pretty good timing though since we don’t have much field work scheduled so it hasn’t delayed anything.

Time to get back to it and start digging holes for those pesky land boundary monuments everybody keeps talking about!!

A warm moist air mass has moved into Southcentral, bringing about wintry mix, heavy snow, and heavy rain to various areas. Heavy rain is expected primarily along the Gulf coast and Prince William Sound. A Wintry Mix is expected from West Kenai, Anchorage, Mat-Su Valley, and the Copper River Basin. Heavy snow is expected from Talkeetna north. Gusty winds are expected in the Anchorage Hillside and Thompson Pass. Flooding, ponding, refreezing, and slick roads likely.

It’s that time of year, headlamps and an extra pair of gloves and socks might not be a bad idea to have when getting to the field. Be safe out there.

From there, land surveying has taken him to every corner of the state from surveying timber boundary lines in Southeastern Alaska near Kechikan, to landfill surveys in Adak along the Aleutian Islands, to runway surveys in Buckland, Golovin and many other small Native Alaskan villages. Rick attained his licensure in 2004 and is has also been a Certified Federal Surveyor since 2015.
