People who choose to settle will argue this point.

My gut is it's how they justify settling. They can't handle losing.

They emotionalize it, and make it mean more than it is. They don't see failures for what they truly are. Lessons. Proof of what doesn't work.

Those who strive for greatness know that mistakes failed tests, wrong hires, deals gone south even disasters reveal where we need to improve and get better. Inching us one step closer to what we seek.
