Closed-Cell spray foam insulation laid down perfectly in these exterior walls. ❄️☀️💨.
With an R-value of about 7 per inch and an efficiency rating of 97%, one inch of closed cell foam is equal or better to R-20 fiberglass insulation. With North Carolina’s new energy codes bumping up the r-value requirements this is a great alternative to typical insulation..
Two major benefits of closed cell spray foam insulation and why I use them whenever I can..
1) the foams built in air/v***r barrier keeps homes tight
2) the rigidity qualities the foam adds to a home are second to none. This makes the home structure extremely strong!
Not all spray foam insulation is created equal...open cell foam has about half the r value per inch, no v***r barrier and very little rigid qualities. It also costs less to spray. Know what your contractor is using in your house.
