A 3’ custom pointed picket fence transitioning to a 6’ stockade privacy fence we teamed up with for a client to add curb appeal to their newly landscaped front yard in the historic district downtown. This particular job had very little room for error as the entire fence had to be core drilled 30” through a cinder block wall that was only 12” wide and if not done correctly could compromise the entire wall. A short run of 5’ D-Grade horizontal style fence with 1x4 vertical trim. D-grade material has very few imperfections and very few knots. We typically recommend using D-grade for any horizontal fence application depending on the customer budget as it is much higher quality than a #2 board or rough sawn standard fence picket. With the overall fence height & proximity to the ground, we elected to use 6x6x16’s for the 8’ & 6x6x12’s for the 6’ to maximize post depth for durability and strength for years to come.
