We strive to provide this quality of property management to both the owner and tenant. Our company was established in 1976 as a custom home building business by our CEO John William “Bill” Hunter. About 5 years into the business a customer aske

d him if he would consider building and managing a rental property for him. Bill agreed and soon realized there was a market for a professional property manager in the area. He decided to expand into the property management business. A few years later he decided to focus on developing and managing investment properties full time. has successfully developed over a dozen duplex and single family home communities and taken on the management of hundreds of other properties. We are headquartered in Wilson, North Carolina and manage over 1,800 properties in central and eastern North Carolina. Bill’s youngest daughter Mary Catherine Smith followed in his footsteps and now serves as president of the company and broker in charge. Our company’s core principles include integrity, diligence and loyalty. We still take pride in running J.W. with the same philosophy as Bill established over 40 years ago of “managing every property as if it were our own.”
