I got a time lapse camera for a recent remodel. Definitely a learning curve in terms of intervals and attaching to objects that cannot swivel like the flag pole we started with.

Proud of Jana Sienkiewicz for joining the mob (a group of emus is called a mob). Building science is not an afterthought in our business and having two certified Passive House builders makes sure of that.

We finally received our container with highly efficient European tilt and turn windows! I ordered them through Dually Works and it’s been great working with Alain.

It has been an exciting couple of weeks at our Peterborough remodel. We finally got to install the Timber HP board on the exterior of the house.

We stripped the siding down to the sheathing. After replacing any rotten plywood, we taped the sheathing to the Foundation with Siga Fentrim 430 tape and wrapped the house with Henry blue skin VP 100.

We then had to install and tape bucks around each window and door.

I had some L brackets made with weep holes, which were installed over strips of bug screen at the bottom of the walls. The Timber HP was temporarily fastened with buttons before the ProTect Quarrix vent strips and 1x3 strapping rain screen was installed. Stapeling the bug mesh to the strapping was the last step. Now it’s ready for siding.
