It's time to start thinking about having your lawn aerated and slice seeded. This heat is scorching everyones lawn and this will help get it back in shape. I get many questions about what aerating your lawn is and why do they need to have it done. Here is a brief summary of what it does and how it helps your lawn maintain a full and lush look.

Aeration can be an extremely vital element to a healthy lawn because it allows air and water to pe*****te built-up grass or lawn thatch.

What is Aeration?
Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water and nutrients to pe*****te the grass roots. This helps the roots grow deeply and produce a stronger, more vigorous lawn.
The main reason for aerating is to alleviate soil compaction. Compacted soils have too many solid particles in a certain volume or space, which prevents proper circulation of air, water and nutrients within the soil. Excess lawn thatch or heavy organic debris buried under the grass surface can also starve the roots from these essential elements.

What is slice seeding?
Slice seeding uses a machine to slice into the soil with steel blades creating furrows. Then it drops the grass seed into the furrows. This method puts the seed directly and securely in contact with the soil, as opposed to just spreading seeds onto your lawn.
