Monday – Purpose: Who Do I Belong To?
Men, we're starting a new week, and I want to continue pulling from the message at Bethlehem Church.
Last week we talked about freedom and asked:
“What is mastering me?”
This week, the question goes even deeper:
“Who do I belong to?”
We spend a lot of time asking:
“Can I do this?”
“Is this really wrong?”
“What's the big deal?”
But maybe we're asking the wrong question.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 says:
"You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
Think about what that means.
If I've surrendered my life to Jesus, then my life isn't just about what I want anymore.
My time belongs to Him.
My abilities belong to Him.
My words belong to Him.
My body belongs to Him.
How I treat my wife and kids matters.
How I conduct myself at work matters.
What I look at when nobody's around matters.
How I take care of myself matters.
How I use the opportunities He's given me matters.
Because all of those things answer the question:
Who am I living for?
And this hits me too.
I can get so focused on business, solving problems, growing, accomplishing the next goal and moving on to the next thing that I have to remind myself:
Jerry, none of this is really yours.
The business isn't ultimately mine.
My abilities aren't mine.
My time isn't mine.
Even tomorrow isn't promised to me.
God has entrusted these things to me, and my responsibility is to steward them well and use them for His purpose.
That's a completely different way to live.
Instead of waking up asking:
“What do I want to accomplish today?”
Maybe we start asking:
“God, what do You want to accomplish through me today?”
Action Step
Before you get too far into your day, stop for a minute and ask:
“Does the way I'm living show that I belong to Jesus?”
Pick one area—your attitude, your words, your body, your marriage, your work, your phone, your time—and surrender it to God today.
At Home
When you walk through that door tonight, remember:
Your wife and children aren't interruptions to your purpose.
Leading and loving them is part of your purpose.
Give them something today that reflects the man God is calling you to be.
Men, remember:
Who you are.
Whose you are.
And Who lives in you.
Then live accordingly.
This Week's Sermon
This week's message from Bethlehem Church is “Who Does My Body Belong To?”
I encourage you to watch it this week. Don't just listen—ask God:
“Where does this apply to my life?”

Prayer
Lord, thank You for paying a price for us that we could never repay. Remind us that our lives belong to You. Help us use our time, bodies, abilities, work, and relationships for Your purpose. Make us men who don't just say we follow Jesus, but show it by the way we live. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏 htt
