From bent and battered to brand new, this garage door replacement turned out to be quite the upgrade.

The second photo shows what happens after an accident, that bottom panel is visibly bent and pushed in. Once a panel gets damaged like that the whole door is compromised. It throws off the balance, puts uneven stress on the tracks and rollers, and depending on how bad the bend is the door may not even seal properly at the bottom anymore. At that point it's not really a question of if you replace it, just when.

The homeowner decided this was the moment to upgrade instead of just matching the old beige color. He went with a rich taupe/bronze tone for the new door and honestly it's one of those choices that completely changes how the whole house reads from the street. Against that natural stone facade the warmer tone blends in so much better than the original lighter shade did. Same window pattern across the top section, same overall panel style, but the color makes a massive difference in how upscale the whole front of the house looks now.

When we showed up in Catonsville to replace this old garage door, the frame was in rough shape. Rotted wood, crumbling material, and a mess that would have ruined any new door we put in.

We could have hung the new door and called it a day. That's not how we work. 💪

So we tore out the damaged frame, rebuilt it with fresh lumber, wrapped it in new trim, and then installed the new door on solid ground.
