Looking to level up your backyard? 🔥 An outdoor fireplace is a game-changer for cozy vibes, but picking the right spot is about more than just looks.
Here’s how to find the perfect placement for your new focal point:
🌬️ Watch the Wind: Position your fireplace where it’s sheltered. You want to enjoy the warmth, not a face full of smoke!
🛡️ Safety First: Keep it a safe distance from overhanging trees, wooden fences, and your home. Clear space = peace of mind.
✨ Make it a Focal Point: Treat it like the heart of your "outdoor living room." Arrange your seating to face the glow and create an instant gathering spot.
🖼️ Frame Your View: Use the structure to highlight a gorgeous sunset or strategically block out a neighbor’s shed.
Ready to turn your hardscape into a year-round retreat? Let’s find the perfect spot for your fire feature! 🏡✨

Getting your lawn ready for the season in Northern Colorado? 🏔️ Before you pull those cores, make sure your sprinkler system is part of the plan!

Here’s the quick checklist for a perfect aeration:

💧 Water First: Run your zones 1–2 days before you start. Softening our heavy clay soil helps the machine pull much deeper cores (aim for 2-3”).
🚩 Flag Your Heads: Turn the system on to identify and mark every sprinkler head and shallow line. Avoid those "oops" moments!
📅 Timing is Everything: Aim for March–May or September–October. Fall is the MVP for soil health, but Spring is great for relieving winter compaction.
🌱 Keep the Cores: They look messy but leave them! They break down and return vital nutrients to your soil.

Don't aerate if the ground is still frozen or a muddy mess—wait for that "just right" moisture level.

Heads up, gardeners! 🌷
Between the warm winter and low snowpack, our plants are in for a tough summer. To keep your trees and perennials alive during upcoming water restrictions, CSU experts recommend mulching heavily and using compost to improve soil absorption. If you are planning a full landscape overall, make sure to include plants and other landscape items that don't need a lot of water- Think drought resistant plants and hardscape items.

The "Rule of Three" is a classic garden design secret that creates instant visual harmony. Here are three ways to use this magic number to elevate your outdoor space:
Create Natural Balance: While single plants can look lonely and pairs can feel too symmetrical, a trio feels organic and intentional. It provides a focal point that anchors your design without feeling "stuffy."
Guide the Eye: Instead of straight lines, arrange your trios in triangles, zig-zags, or loose clusters. This creates a sense of movement and depth, making even small beds feel more dynamic.
Mix Colors & Heights: Use three different varieties or layered heights (tall in the back, short in front) to add texture and richness. This grouping makes a much stronger statement than spacing plants out individually.
Pro-Tip: This doesn’t just apply to plants! Try grouping garden art, lanterns, or pots in threes to bring that same curated, effortless feel to your entire landscape. 🌿✨

Do you prefer a structured garden layout or a more wild, organic look?

Is your water flowing the wrong way? 💧
Most people don’t think about their water supply until there’s a problem. Backflow happens when contaminated water (like fertilizer or soapy pool water) gets sucked backward into your clean drinking water. 🛑
Annual testing isn’t just a city requirement—it’s how you keep your family safe. Our certified team handles the testing, the paperwork, and the peace of mind.
