Safety is more than a priority at VHV, it’s part of our culture.

Our Winooski Safety Day was a huge success, bringing together employee-owners for hands-on demonstrations, safety training, giveaways, raffles, great food, and valuable conversations about creating safer jobsites every day. This is just one of several Safety Days taking place across our locations as we continue to reinforce the importance of workplace safety throughout the company.

A special thank you to NEFCO, Grainger, 3M, Louisville Ladder, White Cap, Milwaukee Tool, Dan Sullivan and Viega LLC for helping make the day possible. We'd also like to thanks Winooski Fire Department for providing fire extinguisher training and demonstrations, and Fresco Catering and Vermont Maple BBQ for keeping everyone well fed.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. Safe work starts with all of us.

Last Friday, VHV was proud to participate in Northwest Technical Center's Skilled Trades Signing Day, a celebration recognizing students who are committing to careers in the trades and beginning the next chapter of their professional journey.

We're excited to welcome Edan Peters, who officially signed his acceptance to join VHV as a full-time Sheet Metal Apprentice. Edan was joined by his family, along with the VHV team, as we celebrated this important milestone.

Just as athletic signing days recognize students taking the next step in their sport, Skilled Trades Signing Day honors students who have dedicated themselves to developing valuable skills that will help build and strengthen our communities. These future tradespeople represent the next generation of talent entering industries that keep our businesses operating, our infrastructure growing, and our economy moving forward.

Congratulations, Edan! We look forward to watching you learn, grow, and build a successful career with VHV.

Safety Month is officially underway at VHV! 🦺

Last Friday, we kicked off our first Safety Day of the month at our Littleton location. Safety Day is our opportunity to recognize and thank our employee-owners for their commitment to working safely every day. Whether it's wearing the proper PPE, following safe work practices, or looking out for one another on the jobsite, our team's dedication to safety is what makes these events worth celebrating.

We'd also like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success. Fresco Catering and Vermont Maple BBQ provided an excellent lunch for our team, generously sponsored by Thermal Environmental Sales (TES). We appreciate Grainger Klein Tools, White Cap, and 3M for sharing their expertise through hands-on demonstrations, product education, and safety training that helped reinforce the importance of staying safe both on and off the job.

Most importantly, thank you to our employee-owners for making safety a priority every single day. This was just the first of several Safety Day events taking place across our locations throughout June, and we look forward to celebrating the teams who help make VHV a safer workplace for all.

Last week, the VHV team had the opportunity to attend the Central Vermont Career Center Trades Fair in Barre, connecting with students, families, educators, and community members interested in exploring careers in the skilled trades.

From hands-on demonstrations to conversations about career pathways, it was great to share what we do and highlight the many opportunities available in the mechanical construction industry. Events like these play an important role in helping the next generation discover rewarding careers and make valuable connections with local employers.

Thank you to the Central Vermont Career Center for hosting a fantastic event and to everyone who stopped by our booth. We enjoyed meeting so many future trades professionals and look forward to seeing where their journeys take them!

At VHV, learning never stops. Bryant Tuttle recently spent time learning how to weld PVC duct for a Chemical Exhaust cabinet installed this winter at New England Wire.

Hands-on training like this helps our team continue building specialized skills while delivering high-quality solutions for our customers. From the shop to the field, we’re committed to improvement every step of the way.

June is National Safety Month, and at VHV, safety always comes first. While June gives us an opportunity to place an even greater focus on workplace safety, our commitment continues year-round at every job site and in each of our office locations across Vermont and New Hampshire.

At VHV, we believe everyone deserves to work in a place where their health and safety are priorities. Safe working practices and maintaining a healthy work environment are the foundation of everything we do. We pride ourselves on delivering efficient and effective work, but it always begins with the necessary safety precautions.

Safety within the construction industry requires participation from everyone throughout the company. We rely on our managers and supervisors to actively promote safety, communicate standards and protocols, and ensure those practices are followed every day. As individuals, we all share the responsibility of following procedures, wearing proper personal protective equipment, and doing our part to avoid accidents whenever possible.

For every project, we promote safety in the design of the work site, equipment, tools, and work practices because safety is essential to both the efficiency and effectiveness of our work. Our success depends on maintaining safe jobsites, healthy work environments, and a culture where safety is always a priority.

Think Safe. Work Safe. Be Safe. 🦺

Throughout June, we’ll also be bringing our teams together for Safety Month events at each VHV location featuring demonstrations, trainings, vendor showcases, local fire department participation, food, and more. These events are an opportunity to continue strengthening our culture of safety, share knowledge across teams, and reinforce the practices that help keep everyone safe every day.
