Sometimes we have to pull the big guns out when removing old concrete footings! We recently had to rent out a Bobcat E35 Mini-Excavator to help us dig out these concrete footings on this 4 seasons porch and wrap around porch. As you can see in the video, this footing was a big one and needed some more muscle to get out of the ground, but the Bobcat made quick and easy work of removing it so we can add a helical pier for a long-lasting sturdy foundation!

Happy New Year Everyone!

In the pictures below you can see why we use helical piers on all of our decks. Concrete piers are susceptible to fail due to frost heaving the concrete footing. This concrete footing was heaved over and over again causing it to push outwards making the deck unstable for the homeowner.

Another re-decking success times two! Unfortunately I do not have before pictures of these decks, but let me tell you, they were not in working order. We had our group of demo specialists take care of the old deck boards and then we got to work. A big change we made to both of these decks is replacing the old and failing concrete piers with new helical piers so they will last a lifetime. We also replaced the posts with new 6x6 treated lumber to give these decks solid legs to stand on. Then we completed the decking with TimberTech decking and Westbury Aluminum Railing.
