It's the time of year to clean out the overgrown areas of the garden. I have a clump of Goatsbeard that has really taken over. I am going to dig it up, it looks like it can be divided into two clumps, so I will have an extra clump if anyone is interested.
I will have a bunch of other plants to share. I am not sure if I will have an open garden day or just post them online. To be decided.

Late July, the tall garden flowers now blooming. Doesn't summer go by fast? Some photos from the current garden!
Some of my favorite summertime activities are visiting other people's gardens. Last Saturday, I visited an amazing garden in the Scratchgravel Hills. This Saturday I attended The Backyards of Broadwater with more great gardens! Always appreciated when we get peeks into other's special spots.

July in the garden; Short (as in not very tall flowers) flower photoshoot.
I tried a few new seeds with shorter flowers for the borders this season. Most of them I really like.
The seedlings had a tough start this season. I have bunnies in the yard (the first I can remember) slugs and all kinds of hungry insects chewing on leaves. Most survived, the pentas did not, darn!
Here are the shortys, names are in captions.

June in my yard, I like to post what is blooming to compare each year. Maybe I just like to post flower pictures.

I have a great interest in regenerative gardening so I attended a workshop with Patti. I keep trying to incorporate these principles, little by little. I won't give up even though I slip into planting without a cover crop (As Patti says "don't plant naked"). It seems to be a challenge for me to comprehend "But how do I plant in clover"
Anyway, here is Patti if anyone is interested in Regenerative Gardening.

It's almost time. The cold hardy lisianthus are planted, snapdragons hardening off and everything else is waiting patiently.
What have you got waiting in the wings for planting? What is popping up outside? Who is excited??? 🌱🪻🌱
