HVAC TIPS: In extreme temperatures with Very High relative humidity outdoors, it doesn't help to set your thermostat to 70 degrees. The only thing that will happen is your system will run all day long and if your house is not well insulated or you have different points of infiltration like cracks in doors or open Windows It will put a lot of strain on your equipment, especially old equipment. A more reasonable temperature to set your thermostat to in these temperatures is about 74 to 75°. This way it will give your system a break And not overwork it in these high heat temperatures. These systems are designed to keep you comfortable on a normal 95° day with about a 50 to 65 percent relative humidity level. This tip will save you money on service calls And being charged for something a technician cannot fix.; however, when the temperature starts to come down in the evening you can start setting your thermostat to a lower designated temperature But if the thermostat is not satisfied in the cooler temperatures in the evening then there may be a possible issue TML 💪🏼
