Yesterday was a beautiful day for the Winthrop Harbor Memorial Day Parade. We had a great time throwing candy to the kids, and some adults too 😉

***APRIL FOOLS!*** 😂😂😂

Big news to kick off the second quarter! 📝
​Our team is proud to announce that we have officially acquired the contract for the Main Street / Galaxy Books block renovation project!
​While we’re excited for the work, the Historical Preservation Board has thrown us a major curveball in the specifications to keep the "vintage village" aesthetic. To maintain structural integrity, this has been designated a Zero-Power Project.
​According to the new contract, our union crew will be required to:
​Forgo all Lithium-Ion tools (it’s back to the manual brace-and-bit and hand-cranked augers for us).
​Hand-forge all conduit supports on-site using a portable coal forge to match the original early 20th-century hardware.
​Manual wire-pulling only—no tuggers allowed, as the vibration might disturb the "historical masonry" along the street.
​It’s definitely going to test our skills, but there's no better crew for the job! 🛠️💪
