This is probably my least favorite part of the cut flower garden. The weeks of in and out of the house to get these seedling babies hardened off. They get an hour more of sunlight every day until they are out for full days. It is quite the squat workout to start and end your day!

It is time to terminate the cover crop! I planted this winter rye last fall and it protected the new garden soil all winter. There are so many benefits to cover crops: increase soil organic matter, reduce compaction, w**d suppression, improve water infiltration and moisture retention. But you do need a plan for termination to take your beds back :)
