We took on this project when it was rough finished; framed, rough-in plumbing & electrical, sheetrock, siding & metal roof. Unfortunately, the "contractor" that started the job covered up a lot of poor quality and unsafe work. We tore out what was needed to, to fix all the problems. Then we put it back together with the quality our customers deserve. 2 bedrooms/1 bath & laundry room, about 900 square feet.

Short of a few touch ups, this one is in the books (FINALLY!) The pictures have more details in the captions.

We have been busy since our relaunch in Oklahoma a year ago. We're still working on rebranding ourselves for this area, but for now will still fly under our old banner and share our current projects. Taking/posting pictures hasn't been a priority though.

Our current project in Hodgen, OK has been "interesting". The original contractor left without finishing. There was a serious bow in the outside wall and sag in the ridge. That's just what got our attention. There were "closets" that didn't make sense & sheetrock was hung, but it was hiding a lot of problems.

I say, "our/we", but this has been a 1-man-show while I recover from shoulder surgery. Gerry Andrews is a jack of all trades and a master of them too. The pictures are captioned with more of the story. I'll try to get Gerry to take a few more pictures as he goes.😜🤣

This beautiful piece was a gift from the heart, made for the childcare center my wife worked for in 2019. The director wanted a table that would serve as a focal point from the entrance for the grand opening. We had log slabs from trees we had cut down on our property so my wife volunteered me to make it. Normally I would have made tenon joints in the legs but I didn't have enough time for fancy details. Pine slab + a few pieces of framing lumber + w**d burner for the finish + screws + polyurethane = simple beauty. Nearly 4 years later & it's still the focal point!

This is the 2000 Sq ft ballroom located in the estate mentioned yesterday. Open the top picture and scroll in on that gorgeous column on the left wall. Gerry designed and built it and 13 others using oak and walnut from the client's property. Similar ones ordered through a commercial supplier would have cost $1000 each in 2006. Gerry was able to save the client 50% of that price. The bottom pictures show how he built them. A little ingenuity and hard work can make a big difference.

Nearly 20 years ago, Gerry was working on a spiral staircase, in a 14,000 square foot, multi-million dollar estate, for a major builder in College Station, Tx. He looked up at the unfinished entryway and sketched a design on the bare wall beside it. The home owner saw the sketch and exclaimed, "That's EXACTLY what I want! Can you build it using pecan & walnut from my property?"
The bar top below & the entryway that matches it are the result of that conversation. It is one of many details that Gerry added to that estate and one of his favorite projects.

2019 has gotten off to a great start! We were able to get our own little cabin weathered in and ready for the metal roof...

2019 has gotten off to a great start! We were able to get our own little cabin weathered in and ready for the metal roof in spite of record rainfall & cold temperatures where we were in Oklahoma. Then it was back to Texas. We started helping a long-time friend with a lot of different improvements on her place; greenhouse/garden beds, replacing siding on the house, drainage issues & road work just to name a few projects. It's been a fun break from 'serious' remodeling. It's back to Bryan in a couple of weeks for a bathroom make-over.

SUNSHINE!
It's been a really wet fall around here. We've been waiting, several weeks, for a stretch of sunny, calm days to finish painting all the doors on this project. Gotta work while the sun is shining; even if it's the weekend.
