It lands on a 4x8 platform, turns back toward the basement door, and runs back under the deck.

One big LVL beam means only THREE posts. Black trim ties into the house's black soffit, fascia corners, and gutters.

Same price as cedar… so what's the catch? 🤔

This composite board is a scalloped profile with a cap on only three sides, and the core is recycled wood and plastic. That organic material can speed up deterioration.

The board going on this deck is 100% PVC: fully waterproof, fully synthetic, and it disperses heat better than composite. 💧

Day 1 in Farmington: the old deck is coming down. 🔨

The plan is to demo, install the helical piers, and start framing. In 5–6 working days, this becomes a 16x20 PVC deck with post skirts and an electric louvered pergola.
