Update from the field: Savannah Country Day School!

Our crews are hard at work renovating the football field for the Hornets. Before we can even think about rolling out the new green turf, we have to build the foundation.

Right now, we are installing the underground drainage system and the crushed stone base. In coastal Georgia, a field has to be able to handle heavy rain. The trench drains and aggregate base we are building today will ensure that this field drains perfectly and stays playable for years to come.

After weeks of dirt work and laser grading, the moment has arrived. The natural grass is going down.

The team is out in Los Angeles consulting on the natural turf remediation for the 2026 World Cup. This week, the focus shifted from the sand base to the surface. The logistics of moving massive rolls of sod from the loading docks to the stadium floor is incredible to watch. To make sure the grass thrives indoors, we are using specialized grow lights that simulate sunlight across the field. It is a complex process, but the result is a vibrant, durable pitch ready for the world stage.

Before a single blade of grass is laid, the foundation has to be perfect.

Our team is out in Los Angeles consulting on the natural turf remediation for the 2026 World Cup. This week, the focus has been on the science of the sand base. We use a process called “nail dragging” to mix fertilizer deep into the sand, then roll it tight and laser grade it one last time.

The stadium also hosted a Media Day this week to announce the upcoming sod installation and recognize the construction crews who are making it happen. It is an honor to be part of this team.

Here is the latest update from the field in Los Angeles.

Our team is preparing a major stadium for the 2026 World Cup, and right now, it is all about precision. VP of Special Projects, Pete Fox, breaks down the final steps before the natural turf is installed.

We are conducting a 3D digital scan of the entire field to verify perfect planarity, and we are constantly watering the sand base to ensure the environment is ready for the living grass. It is a meticulous process, but it is what it takes to build a world class pitch.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at what our team is working on right now.
We are currently on site at a major stadium in Los Angeles, consulting on the natural turf field remediation ahead of the 2026 World Cup. This week has been all about the finish grading phase, which is the most critical and least visible part of the entire project.

Using laser-guided grading equipment and precision surveying tools, our team is establishing a subgrade that is accurate to the millimeter. The sod cannot go down until the foundation is perfect. And when the world is watching, perfect is the only option.

Big news from the ASG team!

Pete Fox, our VP of Special Projects, is on his way to Los Angeles, where Advanced Sports Group has been brought in to consult on the natural turf field remediation ahead of the the World Cup. The project involves finish grading, sod installation, and ensuring the surface meets the strict planarity standards required for international play.

It is a long way from Woodstock, Georgia to the World Cup stage, but the commitment to building quality is exactly the same on every job we do.

We went back to Southern Pines in Dublin, Georgia this week for a little "where are they now" moment, and honestly, we needed it.

In 2022, ASG spent six months completely renovating this 15-field baseball and softball complex for Laurens County.

515,576 square feet.
Three full synthetic turf baseball fields, a soccer field, 12 infield conversions, and a brand new pickleball complex built from the ground up.

Three years later, it still looks incredible. Thousands of kids and families use this place every weekend. That is exactly why we do this work.

From the Dust Bowl to a space the whole school is proud of.
We were thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting at Beacon Hill Middle School for the completion of their new landscape turf installation. What was once an unusable, dusty outdoor area has been completely transformed into a clean, safe, and beautiful space for students to enjoy every day.
Projects like this are a reminder that the work we do goes well beyond construction. We are building places where kids gather, play, and make memories.
