Couldn't resist pictures, it was going to be a two week wait for the door to be installed so I couldn't finish the trim... woodville ran out of that grout as well (for the window blocks), but only lack about a half day.
No need for pattern lessons, that was my first herringbone and I started on the 9'6 ceiling lol.
We will call it a Chevron bone lol
(I offered to correct it at my expense but customers insisted they liked it).
Customers just don't get any nicer than the Haneys.

It is a shame when thieves in construction do what they do. Often, they are older grown men that would rather put their energy into working iniquity and live from scandal to scandal, rather than using that same energy to learn a trade and do the work. They are without excuse, beyond lazy, and at that age are usually reprobates. Russel Scott Cole and his brother Cliff Cole are two examples of this plague in the Silsbee/ Lumberton / Beaumont area. Soon after this event, they made local news in Beaumont, where a lady had given him $9,000 up front for a swimming pool that never got started. In this case, thanks to their skillful pretending, I had to be the guy that came in and tore everything down (reusing most). They built a rafter playground, claiming they would tie into the roof, and put it off as long as they could pretend to make progress, even boldly removing parts of the overhang on the house. In this case it could not be done efficiently without extensive changes to the existing roof on their home. Thankfully the homeowner cut them short of doing any more damage, having to cut his losses. It is painful witnessing when this happens to good people and especially your friends. Josh and Ashley Franz, thank you for the work and reference. Don't look back, cuz vengeance is mine saith the Lord!
This happens everywhere, all the time as construction is a trade pool for all walks of life... so stay sceptical with unknown contractors and watch out for red flags...
