A well deserved honor for an incredible team effort.

Last night, the Cambridge Historical Commission presented its 29th Annual Preservation Awards, with Harvard University's Adams House at the center of the celebration.

Adams House received an award, and fittingly, the ceremony was held inside the restored Adams House pool room.

TWC Phoenix was honored to be part of this major restoration as a member of the team led by Shawmut Design and Construction. Seeing the hard work of our artisans recognized in that very space made the night especially meaningful.

Adams House is a historic dormitory made up of several architecturally distinct buildings and has been home to notable figures, including Robert Frost, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Bill Weld, John Lithgow, and many others. The pool room remained in use as a swimming pool until the 1990s, when it was converted into an event space.

Now beautifully restored, Adams House can continue serving the Harvard community while carrying forward its proud history.

There’s nothing better than seeing a project make a real difference right in our own community.

Greenwood’s Worcester headquarters is next to the Worcester Housing Authority’s Curtis Apartments, where a major overhaul is underway.

Phase one is looking great: new modernized buildings, efficient TPO roofing systems, completed landscaping, and residents already moved back in. Phase two is now in progress.

We’re proud to continue working with the WHA on improvements that support affordable housing here in Worcester.

Today is the National Roofing Contractors Association Roofing Week Charitable Giving Day, and we’re thinking about a special Greenwood moment from last Friday night.

Greenwood’s own Bobby Saldi threw out the first pitch at the Worcester Red Sox game in support of the Pan-Mass Challenge, and he delivered a perfect strike.

As the official start line sponsor of the PMC and a long-time supporter of The New England Center for Children Inc., where Bobby first connected with Greenwood, we were proud to see two causes close to our organization come together in such a memorable way.

We’re celebrating National Roofing Contractors Association's Roofing Week by taking a closer look at signature projects from the past year.

Over the last year, our team has completed an amazing variety of commercial roofing projects, from historic museums and metal-roofed libraries to a Sika USA award-winning rooftop playground.

These projects are just a few examples of the incredible work our roofers and metal workers do every day.

Greenwood has officially started work with Fontaine at Agawam High School in Agawam, MA.

This project will eventually lead to the replacement of the entire school, serving roughly 1,250 students across a large campus.

Right now, our team is getting started on a GAF TPO roof, and the first metal panel steep-slope roof on the project will be installed right next to it. When complete, the new high school will include 75,000 square feet of metal roofing and 122,000 square feet of TPO.

We’re excited to be part of this project and look forward to sharing more as this modern new campus comes together.

Some projects require technical expertise. Others require technical expertise at 1:30 AM in the middle of Boston’s Back Bay.

We are currently completing a skylight replacement and safety installation project in one of Boston’s busiest neighborhoods. Loading materials onto a roof in this setting takes careful coordination, especially when a crane is involved.

Last week, our team was on site at in the early morning hours to make sure the load-out did not interfere with local bus schedules. Since then, the roof has been loaded, and non-penetrating safety rails have been installed to support safe access to the area after the skylights are replaced.

And with the Prudential Building in the background, this crane shot beautifully captures the scale of the work.
