The reason waiving deductibles is illegal in Texas is this-

1. Roofers are more likely to cut corners.
A. They won’t take off the old felt &
Inspect the decking. This will
Often lead to leaks
B. They will re-use old vent pipes &
Flashing
C. They won’t pay for a permit as
required in most cities

2. They won’t answer the phone to warranty a roof

3. They don’t last long in business.

4. No project manager on site.

Gather your team, perfect that secret family recipe, and put your chili to the test! Entry is $100 per team, with a minimum of 2 gallons of red chili prepared on-site. Our firefighter judging panel will be putting their taste buds to work, and bragging rights are on the line!

We've got a job for you, too! For $20, you can participate in the People's Choice competition, sample some delicious chili, and help crown the community's favorite! You'll receive six voting tickets to cast your votes for your top three favorites.

Friends-

Before you renew your homeowner’s insurance policy.

I would make sure you have a long discussion with your insurance agent about your deductible and your roof.

Insurance companies all over Texas are switching people to 2%, 3%, even 5%.

Insurance companies are wanting more of the financial risk of roof replacement to the home owner.

What used to cost $4000 for deductible will now cost sometimes $20,000.

If your roof is 7 or 8 years old, we would definitely recommend a roof inspection before your the deductible gets increased.

If you are currently one of the few people that’s at a 1% deductible, you really oughta consider getting a roof inspection.

DFW friends- we have a wind advisory today. Definitely windy enough to potentially blow off some shingles or blow some trees into some roofs.

We will have crews on standby all day available to tarp roofs and mitigate any damage.

According to the most recent update of the Farmers Almanac Texas is supposed to be in for a crazy winter!

NOW would be a great time for a FREE roof inspection to winterize your home. Inspect for soft spots on your roof decking or any potential for animal to gain access into your attic for warmth!

There are bad 🍎’s in every industry!
There is no license required to be a Roofer in Texas!
Thus it’s imperative for home owners to do their research!

Here is our advice on how to properly vet a Roofer-

1. Are they BBB accredited? If not, why not?

BBB actually does a criminal background check, past business history check & must be free of any unresolved complaints. If they are BBB accredited this means they are participating in an Arbitration program for dispute resolution.

2. Google reviews?

Ideally you want to see 5 star reviews Google in which the reviewer mentions the name of employee they worked with.

3. Check social media!

Are they active in their community? Do they post photos of complete work that they have done?

4. Who are the owners? Where do they live?

5. Are they insured?

6. Do they pull permits?

7. Will they provide an on-site project manager for the entire project?

8. Will they give you a release of lien document showing they have paid all of their crews, suppliers & employees?

9. Do they go into your attic to check that the vent pipes come disconnected?

10. Do they provide photos of your roof?

11. Avoid high pressure sales tactics!
