💦 WATER WEDNESDAY:
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER HEAVY RAIN?

That green water? This wasn’t simply a pool chemistry problem. 🌧️

This property has an upper and lower pool surrounded by woods. After the heavy rain we experienced last week, runoff carried debris and organic material from the surrounding landscape directly into the lower pool.

The result? 👆 BEFORE → AFTER

It took several treatments to get this water clear, balanced, and looking like a pool again.

And there’s an important takeaway for ANY pool owner:

🌿 What you put AROUND your pool matters.

Heavy rain can wash landscaping material directly into your water, creating extra debris, disrupting water chemistry, and putting more demand on your filtration system.

When planning landscaping near your pool:

❌ Be cautious with mulch and decomposed granite near areas where runoff can reach the pool.

✅ Consider rock or artificial turf in areas prone to washout to help keep landscaping where it belongs—and OUT of your pool.

A beautiful pool starts beyond the waterline. Smart landscaping can make a BIG difference in what happens to your water after the next Texas storm. 🌧️

YOUR BACKYARD SHOULD FEEL LIKE A PLACE YOU CAN’T WAIT TO COME HOME TO.

This pool renovation transformed a dated, rock-heavy design into a polished, modern outdoor retreat and the difference is more than cosmetic. It completely changed how the space looks, feels, and functions.

We didn’t just renovate the pool we reimagined the entire backyard.

The existing rock waterfall, decorative rock, and Oklahoma flagstone coping were removed to make way for a cleaner, more modern design.

✨ New tiled feature wall with sheer descents
✨ New mini pebble plaster
✨ Waterline tile added for the first time
✨ New travertine coping
✨ Existing decking and landscaping removed
✨ New spray deck, stamped concrete, and travertine decking

Same backyard. Completely new experience.

If your pool feels outdated, crowded, or no longer fits the way you want to enjoy your backyard, a renovation can change everything from the pool itself to the entire outdoor living experience.

Ready to see what’s possible for your backyard?

What a fun day we had at The Badges and Birdies Charity Golf Tournament! ⛳ 👮 👩‍🚒

DFW Pools and Spa is honored to sponsor something that means so much to me personally. It's special when we get to bring together business and the community we love.

I’m especially honored to be a part of the Wylie Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and to have the opportunity to help put on this event each year. It means so much to me to give back to and support the men and women who serve our community at the Wylie Police Department. Such a great day with amazing people! 💙 💙 💙
