Our Variegated Lemon Thyme is a perennial herb that is typically grown for its edible qualities, although it does have ornamental merits as well! Colorful golden-edged green foliage is crucial for adding color and contrast to patio containers, flowering borders and small open areas. On the edible side of things, the leaves have a savory taste and pleasant fragrance. Its lemon-flavored foliage adds zest to marinades and more!

Check out our Organic Spearmint, a great herb to have at your side! Spearmint has a wide range of applications, including it’s culinary uses to flavor cocktails, sauces, dips, entire dishes, or even as a garnish. Menthol gives Spearmint its signature smell and will be most intense when used fresh!

This hardy flower will tolerate cold and inclement weather, and provide year-round color for your garden. Our Pansies have been quite the hot commodity these past few weeks! Who wouldn’t love these colorful annuals, some with markings that almost resemble faces? These beauties are mainstays of the fall and winter garden. Fun fact: pansies are a symbol of love and affectionate thoughts (their name is thought to derive from the French word for ‘thought’)!

Take a look at the early stage of one of our Poinsettias! The showy, colored parts of Poinsettias that most people think of as the flowers are colored “bracts”, otherwise known as modified or specialized leaves. Within time, this Poinsettia will bloom and produce the beautifully colored bracts it’s known and loved for! These holiday favorites are expected to be ready around Thanksgiving, with more getting ready up until Christmas! So exciting!

Our Organic Giant Red Mustard makes for a bold, versatile edible. These leaves are slightly textured for a better bite and good holding power. This is excellent braised or steamed in salads or stir-fries (use this like spinach or chard), some even use it in shakes! Not only delicious, Red Mustard greens are rich in vitamins A, C and K. Studies claim they contain compounds which have cancer preventing benefits, including antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and natural detoxifying properties!

One of the easiest cauliflowers to grow (thanks to its quick growth and strong vigor), our Cauliflower Snow Crown produces big yields of fully-domed, white heads! Extremely nutritious, the versatile Snow Crown may be eaten raw, cooked, frozen and pickled. No need to hurry to harvest the heads, as this plant holds its eating quality for up to 10 days in the garden. Snow Crown may show a light pink blush when it matures in late Summer’s heat, but, rest assured, that won’t affect the flavor at all!

Quite possibly the most popular and recognizable multi-colorful Fall favorite! Our Pretty Flora Petunia Mix makes tidier baskets than traditional petunias and makes growing a little bit easier. Continually blooming, these flowers create a showy display whether planted in containers, beds or landscapes that are irresistible to butterflies and hummingbirds!Petunias need at least 5-6 hours of good sunlight; they’ll perform better when located in full sun all day (the more shade they receive, the fewer flowers they will produce). Mix these with any color to really make your garden POP!

Our Jolt Pink Dianthus blooms and blazes non-stop from fall to spring (as a cool season alternative to pansies), charming with a “fireworks show” of bright-pink fringy blooms! Up-right, well-branching 16-20” plants, with attractive dark-green foliage, are easy-growing and easy-going! The high heat-tolerant Dianthus is low on upkeep and high in disease resistance. Attractively mass this beauty in a landscape, mid-border, or a favorite container on the patio. This electrifyingly colorful Dianthus also performs as a semi-hardy annual!

Today we discovered something magical in one of our greenhouses: these wonderful little caterpillars on our Organic Rue! There are even a few cocoons already! Pretty neat, right?
These beautiful creatures are known as Giant Swallowtail Butterfly caterpillars and Rue is one of their favorite host plants! But be careful when it comes to handling Rue, it can cause burns (or “hytophotodermatitis”) on some people with sensitive skin.

Our New Gold Lantana has been quite the popular one these past few weeks! With brilliant golden-yellow flower clusters that cover this colorful, heat-loving perennial from spring to fall, what more could you want on display? It’s trailing growth is excellent for use as a ground over or tumbling from hanging baskets. Lantana blooms are self-cleaning, so once planted, little work is required, except for the occasional watering during extreme droughts. Also a great plant for attracting butterflies!
