Let’s settle one of the biggest bathroom debates: keep the tub—or use that space for a larger shower? 😅

The honest answer is that there isn’t one right choice.

Do you actually take baths, or has your current tub been collecting laundry for the past five years? Is there another bathtub somewhere in the house? Would a larger shower make your everyday routine easier? How much space are we working with?

Those answers matter more than whatever happens to be trending online.

For this bathroom, the freestanding tub was the right choice. It created a dedicated place to unwind while keeping the room feeling open, bright and uncluttered.

A good remodel shouldn’t give you features you feel like you’re supposed to want. It should give you a space that works for the way you actually live.

Pulling this one back out of the archives because the weather is cooling down, football is back and suddenly that unfinished basement is looking like a pretty big missed opportunity. 😅

One of our favorite details in this basement is actually something that could have easily felt awkward: the support column.

It wasn’t going anywhere, so instead of treating it like an obstacle, we incorporated it into a divider topped with natural wood. It helps define the seating areas, adds extra usable surface space and brings some much-needed warmth into the room.

That’s the kind of problem-solving we love. Every home has a few quirks—the goal is to make them feel intentional.

With bright lighting, plenty of comfortable seating and a dedicated TV area, this basement became a true extension of the home instead of space going unused downstairs.

Most homeowners don’t renovate often enough to know what a kitchen, bathroom or addition should realistically cost—and we don’t expect you to arrive with the perfect number.

The budget conversation isn’t about finding out how much we can talk you into spending. It helps us understand what matters most to you, which features are non-negotiable and where we may need to make smart trade-offs.

We would much rather have an honest conversation at the beginning than design something you love, only to find out later that it doesn’t work financially.

Picture starting your morning with natural light pouring through the skylight—or stepping beneath the rain shower after a long day and letting everything else wait. 🤍

This isn’t just a shower. It’s a little retreat built right into the everyday routine.

We worked with the home’s angled roofline to create an oversized glass shower filled with thoughtful details: a skylight overhead, rain head, handheld shower, built-in bench, recessed niche and natural stone-inspired tile carried throughout the space.

What could have been a challenging ceiling became the detail that makes the entire shower feel unforgettable.

We’re so excited to support Shop with a Cop this holiday season! ❤️

Chic Woods, ImproveRite Home Remodeling, LLC, and Muscle Mowing are joining forces through December 1 to support the Middletown Township Police Department and its neighboring law enforcement partners. Now in its 11th year, Shop with a Cop gives children from Lower Bucks County the chance to shop alongside local officers and enjoy a brighter holiday season. This year, the program is expected to serve more than 375 children—and community support helps make it possible.

Here’s how our businesses are giving back:

✨ Chic Woods: We’ll donate $20 for every refinished furniture order, plus a $100 contribution from our company.

✨ ImproveRite: We’ll donate $100 for every new service contract signed.

✨ Muscle Mowing: We’ll donate $20 for every completed qualifying job, including cleanup, leaf removal, junk removal, and aeration.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting the children and the wonderful officers who make this event happen. If you’re a local business interested in joining in, we’d love to see more of our community get involved!

Demo day may get all the attention, but a successful remodel starts long before the first wall comes down.

Before we ever pick up a hammer, we take the time to:

• Listen to what isn’t working in your home
• Understand what your family needs from the space
• Measure, plan and talk through the possibilities
• Review priorities, materials and budget
• Make sure you understand what happens next

It may not be the most exciting part to photograph, but it’s one of the most important parts of the entire project. Thoughtful planning helps prevent surprises, keeps everyone on the same page and gives the work a clear direction from the beginning.
