BURN BAN IN EFFECT: Thurston county has initiated it's Annual Fire Safety Burn Ban effective today (July 13th). This restricts all outdoor residential burning (fires that require an ORCAA or DNR permit), however recreational 2x2 fires in approved burn pits (either stone or metal typical of those found in campgrounds) are still allowed, but should keep water on hand.
